Cattitude Blanket Pattern

Cattitude Blanket Pattern

As a cat owner and knitter, I know it goes without saying that keeping cats away from yarn is a project in itself. With the Cattitude Blanket, I wanted to show the playfulness of a cat going after a ball of yarn, with the yarn ball unwinding as the cat plays. A pawprint border decorates the edges of the blanket. It’s perfect to snuggle under with your kitties!

Double knit, the blanket is fully reversible, featuring opposite color schemes on each side. Solid colored yarns show off the design the best, but a subtle heathered or tonal colored yarn can give it a nice uniqueness. Full instructions are included for the double knitting technique.

Counting Sheep Blanket Pattern

Counting Sheep Blanket Pattern

Sheep are the source of the beautiful, luxurious wool that many knitters use to knit their creations. They can also be darned cute! The Counting Sheep Blanket has an entire herd of sheep on each side of the blanket. Depending on the yarn you use, it can have white and black sheep, blue and yellow sheep, purple and green sheep, or whatever color combination you can imagine! The blanket also comes in handy for insomnia — counting the sheep should put you right to sleep!

Double knit, the blanket is fully reversible, featuring opposite color schemes on each side. Full instructions are included for the double knitting technique. The pattern includes two sizes — baby blanket and throw blanket.

Hawaiian Dreams Blanket Pattern

Hawaiian Dreams Blanket Pattern

I designed this blanket while on my honeymoon in Hawaii. I loved watching the waves come in, and wanted to capture the feeling of the ocean so that I could snuggle up with a blanket and dream of Hawaii on cold winter days. My husband even drove me to a yarn shop in Hawaii so that I could buy new yarn to start knitting it right away!

The blanket is constructed using mini cables and two colors of yarn. Similar colors will blend into each other and create a variegated look, while different colors will show more pronounced striping. Optionally, the blanket can be knit with just a single color of yarn instead.

Love of Cables Pillow Pattern

Love of Cables Pillow Pattern

The Love of Cables Pillow is something I created to show how much I love cables and love creating new designs with them. Cables form a delicate heart shape with twists going up the sides and across the back. The pillow can be knit as either a removable pillow cover with a button flap closure or a fully enclosed pillow with stuffing. It makes a beautiful accent for the home or a great gift for someone you love!

May Flowers Pillow Pattern

May Flowers Pillow Pattern

My mom always used to tell me “April showers bring May flowers.” The May Flowers Pillow captures the image of a new field of flowers growing and stretching toward the sky. Bees love these new flowers and fly about them searching for nectar.

The pillow is constructed with slipped stitches, mini cables, and bobbles. The flower stems and centers are knit as the pillow is knit, and the petals, leaves, and bees are added afterwards.

Five Years in the Making – The Tetris Afghan Pattern

Five Years in the Making – The Tetris Afghan Pattern

Tetris was one of my favorite games as a child. There’s something about making the blocks fall into place in an interlocking fashion that is so satisfying to me. One of the first things I did after learning how to knit was to start designing a Tetris afghan. Five years later, the afghan finally became a reality!

The Tetris Afghan is knit as individual squares, which are then joined together using a crochet join into the Tetris pattern. This makes it a very portable project. I created many of the squares on the plane or in the car while traveling.

This is a great beginner blanket. The only knit stitches involved are knit and purl. The squares are joined together using crochet with full illustrated instructions for how to do so.
