I’m excited to announce the first Nifty Knitter Designs Mystery Knit a Long (MKAL), the Cat Season Scarf!
What is an MKAL? An MKAL is when the pattern is broken up into a series of clues or parts. What the final piece looks like is a mystery until all the parts have been received.
Cat Season Scarf is similar to my Knit Season Scarf, except with cats! The MKAL starts on September 16 and the pattern is 20% off until it starts. There will also be a drawing at the end for participants.
For more details, check out the pattern on Ravelry.
What makes a great story? “Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles.” Inspired by one of my all-time favorite movies, The Princess Bride, the Storybook Love Scarf brings to life the type of love you might find in a storybook, the kind worth fighting for. Double knit, the scarf is fully reversible, featuring opposite color schemes on each side. Full instructions are included for the double knitting technique.
The Into the Woods Scarf was inspired by my days of backpacking in the Sierra Nevada mountains. A trail leads into a forest, which gives way to hills and mountains with the sky above. It’s the perfect scarf for cold nights camping or when you want to carry the beauty of nature with you. Double knit, the scarf is fully reversible, featuring opposite color schemes on each side.
The world can always use more love, and this scarf is an expression of that love. Hearts repeat all the way up and down the scarf. Knit it for a loved one, someone who needs some extra love, or just for yourself and give yourself some love! Double knit, this thick scarf features lots and lots of hearts, with opposite color schemes on each side. Use contrasting colors to show off the design. This is a great beginner double knit project.
Inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night, the colors of the Whirl Scarf swirl and twirl in spirals and eddies. Double knit, the scarf is fully reversible, featuring opposite color schemes on either side. Work the scarf in navy and gold to represent whirling stars on a night sky or choose new colors for the swirls.
Music and knitting are both forms of artistic expression, and this Musical Scarf combines both in a warm, comfy scarf. Completely reversible, the scarf features musical notations on both sides, with the colors on opposite sides inverted. A beautiful gradient combined with a contrasting solid color shows off the design nicely!
Any cat owner knows that cats have minds of their own. The Herding Cats Scarf shows what happens if you try to herd cats… they just do their own thing. All the way up and down the scarf are a “herd” of cats. Double knit, the scarf is fully reversible, showing opposite colors on each side.
Celtic knot designs have long been featured in knitted garments and accessories. The Celtic Ward Scarf features a circular Celtic knot called a shield knot, traditionally used for protection. This scarf is perfect for warding off the cold with a Celtic flair!
Can’t stop the signal! Fans of Firefly/Serenity, you’ll love this Serenity Scarf! It features the Serenity ship at both ends with the Chinese “Serenity” symbols. Along the length of the scarf reads “You can’t take the sky from me”. Wear it to your next Shindig!
